On Saturday 7th May, 2011, the NQ Scots band entertained the people of Charters Towers at the historic World Theatre with a full 2 hour show, bringing them an eclectic mix of celtic music.
This was a landmark event for a band which gets together only once in every 5 weeks or so. This was the first time that the band had undertaken a show in which all the acts were performed exclusively by members of the band.
The band’s leader, Fraser Martin, said it was one of the proudest moments ever, to see and hear the endeavours of such a committed group come to life on the stage.
“These guys never cease to amaze me,” said Fraser, “Whether it be on the competition field or on the stage, they have the heart of a lion.”
The band’s president, Bevan Donaldson, said that “It’s been a long time since bagpipes ever sounded like this in Charters Towers. I’m not quite sure what people were expecting, but from the fantastic reviews we received, it sounds like they want to hear a lot more.”
